Your outcomes extend beyond the operating room. This protocol outlines Dr Ong's recommended approach to scar management, compression garment use, and adjunct laser treatments tailored to each phase of your recovery.

All surgical incisions produce a scar. With the right protocol, initiated at the right time, their visibility can be significantly minimised. Dr Ong recommends a phased approach beginning from day one post-operatively.

Scar maturation takes 12–24 months. Consistent, layered care across each phase yields the best long-term outcomes. Sun protection over the incision site is essential throughout this period.

LED Light Therapy

Reduces inflammation and pain, accelerates wound healing and tissue repair. No downtime. Ideal for fresh incisions immediately following surgery onwards, performed by the team at Studio Aesthetica, Paddington.

Topical Protocol

Clinically proven silicone-based products (Nokori gel and tape kit) reduce scar tissue, support new tissue formation, prevent scabbing, and provide a protective barrier. Continued use for 8–12 weeks is recommended for optimal results.

Laser Genesis & CO₂ Laser

Once the wound has sufficiently matured, laser treatments address vascularity, texture and collagen remodelling. Laser treatments are performed by the team at Studio Aesthetica, Paddington. A complimentary post-operative skin consultation is included with all surgical procedures: your treatment pathway will be tailored at this appointment. Laser Genesis involves no downtime, and CO2 has a 1-week recovery time.

In-clinic keloid scarring treatment

For raised, hypertrophic or keloid scars, in-clinic treatment breaks down collagen bonds, reducing size, hardness, redness, and associated discomfort.

Rejuran Scar

Targets persistent scarring, promoting skin regeneration, reducing redness and improving texture. Suitable for new, red or textured scars. Rejuran is performed by Dr David Ong at Studio Aesthetica, Paddington

Compression Garments

Compression garments, including post-op bras, are a non-negotiable part of recovery following breast, body and abdominal procedures. They reduce swelling, support wound closure and improve contour outcomes. Dr Ong recommends procedure-specific garments sourced through the clinic.

Compression garments are available for purchase through Studio Aesthetica at your pre-operative appointment. Our team will advise on sizing and fit to ensure optimal support throughout your recovery.
